GLOSSARY
Accessory An external auxiliary which is connected to the radio, such as
amplifier or tuner.
Alert Tone The radio speaker alert tone (High/Low).
Alternate Display Time The time interval the radio shows its unstable displays:
Frequency, Clarifier and Dimmer, on the front panel (seconds).
Band The type of side band transmission (Upper Side Band/Lower
Side Band).
Baud Rate The radio serial communication Baud Rate (bits/second).
Channel A narrow band of frequencies including the assigned carrier
frequency, within which a radio system must operate in order to
prevent interference with stations on adjacent channels.
Communication Ports The two serial ports available on IBM-PC computers.
Default Path A directory selected as default directory for Open and Save
commands.
Delete LSB An option which enables/disables the radio Lower Side Band
transmission.
Group A group of scanned channels.
Guard Channel The channel scanned by the radio at 50% duty cycle with other
scanned channels in the group.
Half Duplex The radio transmits and receives on different frequencies.
Noise Blanker An option which enables the radio to filter received cyclic
noises.
Power Level The transmit data power (non-audio).
Mode Carrier reinsertion mode (SSB, AME and PLT).
Priority Channel The radio switches to this channel after pressing the Priority
button on the front panel.
