When the PC’s baud rate is different from the radio’s (as defined by the RSS), a warning appears on
the screen, indicating a possible communication failure upon restart.
7.2.2. WRITE DEVICE IN TECHNICIAN MODE
The user working in Technician mode (see Preferences Setting), is able to load radio parameters into
the radio and operate additional utilities such as: power calibration, oscillator calibration, ECN list
modification and serial number modification.
Following selection of Write Device command from the File menu, and the Write Device dialog is then
opened, providing the capability to select which parameters to load. You may select technician
parameters only if technician parameters were loaded from the radio or the Recovery Mode was used.

The parameters listed below are defined as technician parameters and may be altered only when
working in technician mode.
Parameter Enables to
Power Calibration: To calibrate the radio transmit power
Oscillator Calibration: To calibrate the radio oscillator
Modify ECN List: To add or delete an ECN from the list
Modify Serial No: Modify the radio serial number
After making the selection and pressing the OK button, the window displayed in Figure 7-6 appears.
The bar advancing from left to right indicates the computer starts loading parameters into the radio.
Select this item to program the radio
configuration parameters (outlined in the radio
configuration dialog boxes).
Select this item to program special radio parameters,
such as calibration parameters, ECNs and serial
number. This item is enabled only if you previously
loaded technician parameters from the radio.
