7.1.2. READ DEVICE IN TECHNICIAN MODE
The user working in Technician mode (see Preferences Setting), is able to load radio and technician
parameters (power calibration, oscillator calibration, ECN list modification and serial number
modification) from the radio and, program the radio using the serial communication interface. The user
working mode is displayed on the Status line.
Following selection of Read Device command from the File menu, the Read Device dialog is opened,
providing the capability to select which parameters to load. You may select only one of the listed items
or both.

After making the selection and pressing the OK button, the window displayed in Figure 7-3 appears.
The bar advancing from left to right indicates the computer attempts to load parameters from the radio.
You may stop this process at any moment by clicking the Abort button.

A prompt for unsaved parameters may appear before any attempt to load parameters from the radio. If
there is no response from the radio, or the communication parameters are not compatible (like baud
rate) a communication failure message appears.
