the Trunked Bank being programmed. If the Control Channel is not being received by
the radio an error message will be displayed indicating that the particular Trunked Bank
cannot be programmed with Talkgroup IDs. This button is disabled if no radio is
connected.
OPERATING TIP: If you are not within receiving range of the Control Channel you can
enter the frequency of a local, known good Control Channel for a similar radio system into
the bank, program the channels for the Bank and then program the Talkgroups for the
Bank. This “fools” the radio into thinking it has a Control Channel while you are
programming the Talkgroups. Once the Talkgroups are programmed into the Radio you
can Lockout the “Dummy” Control Channel in the Bank.
o Load All ScanLists Button - Click to copy all ScanList Talkgroup IDs for the selected
Bank from the scanner’s radio memory to the ScanControl Memory Area. NOTE: For
the BC245XLT, BC895XLT and the PRO2052 this function will only be successful if
the radio is receiving the Control Channel for the Trunked Bank being loaded. If the
Control Channel is not being received by the radio an error message will be displayed
indicating that the Trunked Bank cannot be loaded with Talkgroup IDs from the radio.
This button is disabled if no radio is connected.
o *Clear All ScanLists* Button - Click to initialize the ScanList Location data for all
ScanList Locations in all ScanLists in the currently selected bank.
o Prog 0’s Checkbox – Checked enables the programming of 0 values. Unchecked
disables the programming of 0 values. The default for this control is checked. As
defaulted, when programming TalkGroup IDs into scanner memory ScanControl
programs any 0 Talkgroup ID value along with its alpha tags and other data attributes
during the programming process. If this box is unchecked then 0 values along with their
alpha tags and data attributes are skipped during the programming process. This saves
time during the programming process. A word of caution here … if you uncheck this
box thereby skipping 0 values then any Talkgroup ID values already stored in radio
memory WILL NOT be overwritten during the programming process.
o Clear Tags Checkbox (BCT8, BC245XLT, BC895XLT, BC898T and PRO2052
Only) - Since alphanumeric tags are only stored in the ScanControl Memory Area and
not in the radio memory you have the option of retaining the existing tags or clearing
them whenever you perform a ScanList upload from the radio. Checking the box will
enable tag clearing, un-checking the box will disable tag clearing. The default is to
disable tag clearing. This checkbox is disabled if no radio is connected.
o Pri Loc Drop Down Box – Drop down box used to select the Priority Talkgroup
Location for the selected ScanList. Each ScanList can have one Priority Location.
Selecting the location number in the drop down box sets the P indicator for the ScanList.
The default Priority Location is set to the first location in each ScanList when a New File
is created.
o AFS Checkbox – Agency-Fleet-Subfleet data display. Sets the Talkgroup ID display
mode in the radio. When the box is checked the radio will display Talkgroup IDs in AFS
mode. When the box is unchecked the IDs will display in decimal mode.
