through 10 in the scanner’s radio memory. 0 is used to represent the number 10 because
this is the way it is displayed and used on the radio LCD display and the radio keypad.
o Talkgroups: ID – Data entry field for the Talkgroup ID number. This can be up to a 6
digit number as assigned by the Trunked radio system. Three formats are valid for
Talkgroup IDs: Type II / LTR format (000000), Type I format (000-0[0]) and EDACS
format ([0]0-000). ScanControl edits the ID entries and checks for valid format based on
trunk system type defined for the bank you are programming.
o Talkgroups: Talkgroup Tag - Data entry field for the alphanumeric tag associated with
the selected Talkgroup ID within the selected ScanList. This tag is stored in the
ScanControl Memory Area and data file. The tag is not stored in the BCT8, BC245XLT,
BC895XLT. BC898T and PRO2052 but is stored in the BC250D, BC296D, BC785D,
BC796D and BC780XLT.
o Talkgroups: P – Checkbox to designate the Priority control attribute ON or OFF for a
Talkgroup within a ScanList.
o Talkgroups: B - Checkbox to designate Beep Alert (BC780XLT, BC250D, BC296D,
BC785D and BC796D Only) control attribute ON or OFF for a Talkgroup within a
ScanList.
o Talkgroups: L - Checkbox to designate Lockout control attribute ON or OFF for a
Talkgroup within a ScanList.
o Talkgroups: R - Checkbox to designate Record control attribute ON or OFF for a
Talkgroup within a ScanList.
o Talkgroups: Load ScanList – Click to copy 10 ScanList Talkgroup IDs for the selected
ScanList for the selected Bank from the ScanControl Memory Area to the scanner’s radio
memory. NOTE: This function can only be performed AFTER the Channel
frequencies for the selected Bank have been programmed into the radio. For the
BC245XLT, BC895XLT and PRO2052 this function will only be successful if the radio
is receiving the Control Channel for the Trunked Bank being programmed. If the
Control Channel is not being received by the radio an error message will be displayed
indicating that the particular Trunked Bank cannot be programmed with Talkgroup IDs.
This button is disabled if no radio is connected.
o Talkgroups: Prog ScanList - Click to copy 10 ScanList Talkgroup IDs for the selected
ScanList for the selected Bank from the scanner’s radio memory to the ScanControl
Memory Area. NOTE: This function can only be performed AFTER the Channel
frequencies for the selected Bank have been programmed into the radio AND it will
only be successful if the radio is receiving the Control Channel for the Trunked Bank
being loaded. If the Control Channel is not being received by the radio an error message
will be displayed indicating that the particular Trunked Bank cannot be programmed with
Talkgroup IDs. This button is disabled if no radio is connected.
o Talkgroups: *Clear ScanList* - Click to initialize the data in all 10 ScanList Locations
for the currently displayed ScanList.
Operations Controls
o Prog All ScanLists Button - Click to copy all ScanList Talkgroup IDs for the selected
Bank from the ScanControl Memory Area to the scanner’s radio memory. NOTE: This
function can only be performed AFTER the Channel frequencies for the selected Bank
have been programmed into the radio. For the BC245XLT, BC895XLT and PRO2052
this function will only be successful if the radio is receiving the Control Channel for
