PIDU interfaces

The PIDU has the following interfaces:

Mains power input.

DC In Alternative DC power supply input.

DC Out DC power output to a second PIDU, to provide power supply

redundancy. For more information, refer to the

ODU RJ45 socket for connecting CAT5e cable to ODU.

LAN RJ45 socket for connecting CAT5e cable to network.

Recovery Used to recover the unit from configuration errors or software

image corruption.

The PIDU indicator LEDs have the following states:

Indicator State Description

Power

(green)

Off No power.

On PIDU is receiving power.

Blink There is a short circuit in the ODU-PIDU cable.

Ethernet

(yellow)

Off No Ethernet traffic.

Blink ten times Correct start up sequence has occurred.

Blink randomly Normal Ethernet traffic.

Blink irregularly The ODU has booted in recovery mode.
