Read this info rmation befor e using a wearable c ommunicator (PIC).
First introduced in 2000, the Personal Interactive Communicator (PIC) is one
of the m ost exciting a nd innovative electronic products ever developed. With it,
you can stay in c on tact with your f amily, your office, information services, and
others. For the safe and efficient operation of your communicator (PIC),
observe these guidelines:
Yo ur communicator (PIC) is a radio transmitter and r ec eiver. When it is ON, it
receives and also sends out radio frequency (RF) energy.
The communicator (PIC) transmitter oper ates in the frequency range of 896
MHz to 902 MHz, a nd the receiver operates in the range of 929 MHz to 942
MHz. It utilizes commonly used frequency modulation (FM) techniques. The
unit transmits at apower level of0.15W for shortperio ds of time (fr om 0.016 to
0.160 seconds). Transmissions occur in frequently and usually follow within a
fewsecondsof a pagethat hasbeen receivedor whenthe unit is first turned on.
In 1991, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and in
1992, the Ame rican National Standards Institute (ANSI), updated the 1982
ANSI Standard for safety levels with respect to human exposure to RF energy.
